Appeals Court Temporarily Lifts Trump Gag Order In D.C. Case

A gag order on Donald Trump was temporarily lifted by a federal appeals court. The twist in this is the legal fight over the restrictions on former president Donald Trump’s speech. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit decided to hold the gag order.

The holding of the gag order gives the judges some time to consider the request from Trump. Trump’s request for a longer gig pause on the restrictions while his appeals played out.

The order says the temporary pause “should not be construed in any way as a ruling on the merits” of Trump’s bid

The Gig orders by U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan restricted Trump from making public statements or speech. The previous statements of Trump targeted prosecutors, court staff, and potential witnesses, of conspiring in the 2020 election where Trump lost to President Joe Biden.

The D.C. appeals court upheld the gig order due to the restrictions on Trump by Chutkan going too far. The issue is most likely to be appealed to the Supreme Court, However, there is no guarantee of justice on this matter.
