Starting today, the Pro Bono week, where lawyers get support and recognition for their work across the United Kingdom. Also, it encourages students and other lawyers to hold pro bono events.
Three topical themes have been pinpointed for the 22nd annual installment. These three topical themes are ‘Changing lives through pro bono’, where they celebrate the inspiring examples of pro bono.
The second one is ‘maximizing the impact of pro bono’ and the third is ‘ Pro bono within ESG: from climate to sustainable development’. All the Law firms, legal societies, charities, chambers, in-house lawyers, universities, and law schools are encouraged to organize the events to take all the way through the week. It is also an opportunity to publish reports and launch new initiatives.
Law Society President Nick Emmerson said,
“The Law Society is once again happy to be taking part in a celebration that amplifies those involved in pro bono work and encourages other members of the legal profession to join. Pro bono has a huge impact on the lives of others by ensuring that people have access to justice no matter what their circumstances may be.”
